Dave Ryan is Cape Cod Oyster Company's President and a Marine Biologist by training. There is no aspect of our operation that he has not done first, broken, perfected , re-invented and taught. He is our oyster whisperer and a great motivator for our staff. Creator of the famous oyster farming workout program Body by Dave. "Papa Dave" serves as our in-house dad, manager, psychiatrist, personal trainer, spiritual leader and overall awesome human being.

Dave discovered and fell in love with the oyster business when he first graduated from college. Working in the oyster hatchery at A.R.C. with early industry innovators like Dick Krause, Sue Talin, and Gene Petrovitz, he realized it was the right business for him. “ It was a way of life, not just a job”.  Dave is as enthusiastic about what he does at 55 years old as he was at 20.

Dave is also one of the pioneers of oyster safety and has worked tirelessly with federal, state and local governments to create standards by which the industry can survive and provide a healthy safe oyster for everyone to enjoy.

Dave Ryan is a collector of antique bottles that he finds by scuba diving in many local ponds and waterways.
